You have to check out the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. It is a huge canopy screen with a Viva Vision light show! It is an incredible display that lights up the whole street. As I looked up to watch the show I was surprised to see someone sliding across a zip line. The line starts near The Heart Attack Grill at the Slotzilla Slot Machine that is a 12 story tower. You can fly the zip line at 77 feet or fly super-hero style from 114 feet if you’re brave enough! Haylee would love either one…me, probably not so much!

Downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street are just as lively as the strip. We actually spoke with several people who prefer the downtown area. This is most definitely not me but it is a great experience. This is where the affordable gambling takes place (as long as you don’t mind feeling a little dirty just from walking in somewhere). My husband says the $2 blackjack tables are worth it! Fremont Street is home to the famous Binion’s and Golden Nugget. These are 2 of the most well-known casinos downtown. Booking.com offers great rates for staying in Las Vegas!
Oscar’s Beef – Booze – Broads “The Happiest Steakhouse in the Universe” ran by “The Happiest Mayor in the Universe”
This is a steakhouse full of history. The owner is former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman. Prior to being a mayor he was a defense attorney. Several of his clients were accused of being the leaders of organized crime in Las Vegas. He served 3 terms and then opened this restaurant. If you happen to make it by there try the Peach Bellini!
Is there anything you think we need to do or see next time we are downtown, if so please comment below! We are always up for suggestions! Or if you have any questions about things you should do feel free to ask! I over research everything so even if I didn’t do it, I probably read a lot about it and can try to help.
Don’t miss our post about the Las Vegas Strip!
If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas I definitely recommend the book below. The Unofficial Guide books are my favorite travel books on the market today. I love that they are consistently written and informative no matter what city I buy it for. I can expect the same great hotel and restaurant reviews as well as great information on activities.
