Looking at the calendar and realizing it is more than a few days into November is a real eye opener! It seems like the holidays come around quicker each year.
Despite the stress that the holiday season brings…and there’s plenty of it…I love it!
All of the entertaining, baking, decorating, and buying gifts really lifts my spirits during the cooler months where the days are shorter and it gets dark earlier.

I also have an obsession with printable planners! I am a pen and paper girl all the way. Few things make me feel better than having a to-do list and checking things off of it!

Thanksgiving Menu Desserts
Planning meals is one of my favorite parts of the holidays, especially desserts!
I have two incredible dessert recipes that I need to tell you about today! They are both from Alli’s blog at An Alli Event and they are delicious!
Does your family tag you in every recipe that they thinks looks good on Facebook?
No? Just mine? You know you’re the family baker when your mother, mother-in-law, daughter, husband, niece, sister-in-law…even friends tag you in things that they would like for you to make!
My mom came across Dixie’s Pecan Pie Cobbler last November on Facebook and tagged me asking me to make it for my grandmother’s birthday dinner on Veteran’s Day. I’m not even a big fan of pecan pie but my grandmother is so I cooked this, loaded it into my Rachael Ray Lasagna Lugger (I love this thing…it will carry anything in a casserole dish!) and took it to my grandmother’s.
It was amazing and took me by complete surprise so I made it again for Thanksgiving and again for Christmas!
My mom called a few days ago to say she would buy the pecans if I would make it again this year!
If you’re a fan of pecan pie then Dixie’s Pecan Pie Cobbler needs to be on your Thanksgiving Day menu!
The next recipe is for her delicious Italian Cream Cake! This may be the best cake I have ever put in my mouth! If Italian Cream Cake is your thing then this recipe should definitely be your go to! It is super moist and the homemade cream cheese frosting is the icing on the cake…literally and figuratively!
If you have any other incredible dessert suggestions for me, bring them on! Just put them in the comments below! Occasions for me to bake something pop up all the time around here!
